Access for Handicapped Individuals or Individuals with Impaired Mobility
Parking - The entity handling the parking for the swap meet provides handicap parking spaces. Access to the spaces requires a valid Certified Handicap Placard that is displayed prominently on the vehicle for inspection, and must be assigned to one of the occupants of the vehicle being parked.
Handicapped Carts - Electric mobility units (three or four wheeled, freestanding, electric scooters that are authorized by the federal government for access in public buildings) may be used at anytime inside the swap meet by any individuals who need this mode of transportation. Individuals are welcome to bring their own personal scooters that fit these requirements for use during the swap meet. In addition, vendors will be located on the swap meet grounds again this year for individuals to rent the handicapped scooters on-sight. Free Parts Hauling Service
The Pate Swap Meet provides a free Parts Hauling Service to patrons and vendors purchasing heavy or bulky items who request our assistance. The Pate Workers who are providing this service are driving golf carts — most of which are equipped with trailers. Listed below are the procedures for requesting the free Parts Hauling Service and the policies and procedures related to these services.
How to Request this Service - The Parts Hauling Service can be requested at any of the Information Booths at the swap meet. The workers in the Information Booths will provide a Parts Hauling Form for each individual at the time parts hauling assistance is needed. The Pate Workers who are hauling the parts will pick up the individual at the Information Booth.
Parts Drop Off Locations - Parts can be picked up and dropped off at any swap meet spaces within the swap meet grounds. Parts can also be delivered to the designated parts drop off location located next the the visitor parking area. This drop off location is staffed by Pate Workers who will watch the parts while the individual returns with his or her vehicle to pick up the parts from this location.
